| Yuba County is a rural but fast growing region where education, employment and income levels typically lag behind much of the rest of the State. With the promise of regional economic stimulus, the Tribe’s commitment to transparency and community relations has resulted in strong local support from individuals, business associations, local Chambers of Commerce, and labor unions, to name a few.
Examples of local support include:
- Local intergovernmental agreements including Memoranda of Understanding with Yuba Co. and City of Marysville (see Project Process/Commitment to the Community)
- Support from other leading local civic and business organizations, including the Yuba Sutter Chamber of Commerce (a 900 member organization), Marysville Business Improvement District (BID), Yuba City DBA, and the North Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
- Submission of over 3,000 personal endorsements by local citizens and formation of the Local Leaders Group (LLG), a coalition of independent business and community leaders who lend their support for the project. Please fill out our support form if you’d like to personally endorse the project.
- Support for Indian Gaming in Yuba County. The June 2000 proposition allowing Indian Gaming in California passed by 61% or nearly 2 to 1 countywide.
