Introduction
We are pleased to show you how the tracking of how the Tribe plans, develops, and advances clean and reliable energy for our tribal community. We will provide you with clear updates on energy planning, project development, and long-term goals focused on resilience, cost savings, and energy sovereignty.
The Tribe is actively planning a microgrid and battery energy storage system to improve energy reliability and resilience for the Casino and nearby Tribal facilities.
Originally anticipated federal Community Change Grant (CCG) funding was discontinued. In response, the Tribe is responsibly evaluating alternative financing and partnership options to advance this project while protecting Tribal resources.
The Tribe is finalizing a grant to install level II & III chargers near Rocktane for customers to use, this will generate revenue and support green-energy goals.
This work reflects the Tribe’s long-term commitment to:
- Energy sovereignty
- Operational resilience
- Careful financial stewardship (especially with the continued increase in PG&E rates)
Strategic Energy Plan (SEP)
Status: Under Revision
The Tribe’s Strategic Energy Plan is a living document that guides short-, intermediate-, and long-term energy decisions.
The Plan is currently being updated to reflect:
- Changes in available funding programs
- Lessons learned from recent project development
- Updated timelines and priorities

The revised Plan continues to prioritize:
- Energy independence
- Cost savings that can be reinvested into Tribal services
- Environmental and cultural stewardship
- Workforce development opportunities for Tribal Members
Future solar projects intended to support Tribal households are in the planning and evaluation stage. The Tribe is assessing approaches that are:
- Scalable and cost-effective
- Eligible for future grant and incentive programs (many currently on hold with the new federal administration)
- Designed for long-term household benefit
No residential installations have begun at this time. Planning work is underway to ensure future projects are well-designed and sustainable.
